Nigerian govt insists Twitter ban is in national interest, confirms talks with platform.
On Tuesday, the Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Lai Mohammed, said that the Federal Governments ban on Twitters operations was in the country’s interest.
When he appeared before the House Committee on Information in Abuja, the Minister cited various sections of the 1999 Constitution in support of the action. the ban on Twitter according to him was in response to the security challenges facing the country.
Mohammed said the federal government has began talks with Twitter to resolve the matter.
Lagos State, RGL to Remove 400MT of Plastic Waste.
The Lagos State Ministry of Environment (LSME) and the Humanity Nigeria, is collaborating with the Recyclan Global Limited (RGL), the market leader in sustainable recycled PET supply from Africa, to recycle 400 metric tonnes of plastic bottle waste across Lagos State.
The exercise would clean about 20 per cent of Lagos estimated monthly PET plastic waste and might set a new Guinness World Record for the largest volume of plastic bottles collected for recycling by a team.
CBN: Rice Prices to Fall as 27,000 Metric Tonnes Hit Market.
CBN expects that the price of rice should fall in the coming days as the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Rice farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN) plan to distribute 27,000 metric tonnes of rice paddies directly to millers nationwide.
The rice, which will be distributed from Wednesday, aligns with the apex banks move to address the inflation of food prices in the Nigerian market.

The director general, NITDA, Mallam Kashifu Abdullahi, while making his presentation at the 8th Annual Instalment of the International Data Corporation (IDC), West Africa CIO Summit 2021, revealed that COVID-19 pandemic has boosted digital economy in Nigeria.
This, he added, also helped to accelerate the digital transformation journey faster, more dramatic and disruptive, giving opportunities for more convenient online presence with less disturbance.
